GCSE Results Day 2017
Woodbrook Vale GCSE Results 2017
Congratulations to all students who achieved excellent results in their summer GCSE examinations. Results were once again well above national average scores across a range of headline measures.
Students performed strongly across a wide range of subjects, including in the new mathematics, English Language and English Literature 9-1 qualifications. Indeed, 80% of our students attained a Grade 4 or above in both English and maths – an outstanding achievement (Grade 4 = the old ‘C’).
There were many outstanding individual achievements across the year group.
Particular congratulations go to: Chloe Felton (3 9; 6 A*), Matilda Rousham (3 9; 6 A*), Hannah Duxbury (2 9, 1 8; 3 A*, 3 A), Ellie Goddard (1 9, 2 8; 6 A*), Ella Mock (2 9, 1 8; 2 A* 4 A ), Victoria Li (1 9, 2 8; 5 A* 1 A), Amy Morton (1 9, 1 8, 1 7; 5 A*), Kirill Romanenko (1 9, 1 7 ,1 6; 7 A* ) and Peter Thorpe (1 9, 2 7; 3 A*, 3 A).
Current Year 11 students at Woodbrook Vale are also celebrating after achieving excellent results in their GCSE Statistics exam (81% A*-C).
Gary Peat (Headteacher):
“We are delighted with the excellent examination results achieved by our students, which continue to build upon outcomes achieved since the introduction of GCSE qualifications to Woodbrook Vale in 2015. The positive results reflect the hard work of all students and the dedication of both teaching and support staff across the school.
As well as high academic performance, we also recognise and value the wider achievements of our students across a range of specialisms, including music, sport and the performing arts.
Congratulations to all our students who have been justifiably rewarded for their hard work and committed approach to their courses. We are very proud of their achievements and wish them well as they now begin their post-16 studies”.
