Year 11 First Aid
Year 11 Health and Social Care students completed a First Aid qualification under the expert tutelage of Nicola Astbury from Leicestershire MiniFirst Aid.
The course is an introduction to First Aid and provided all the students with an overview of basic First Aid skills such as CPR, choking, burn treatment and other potential everyday occurrences. For those that are considering a career in healthcare, these will be essential skills in their chosen career. For those not considering a career in Healthcare these are life skills that will transfer into any other chosen career.
The Health & Social Care students threw themselves into the course and excelled as first-aiders and as patients, representing Woodbrook superbly as always. As well as learning the requisite skills and techniques the students also grew in confidence and developed their communication skills.
Health & Social Care students all received a certificate for completing the course to add to their growing CV, which will stand them in good stead for their college applications.
